Glossary

Arm Wrestle Hold ²

This hand hold is sometimes used when Lead pulls Follower from one side of Lead to the other. As the name implies, it is similar to the way Lead and Follower would hold their hands if they were arm wrestling.

Copa

This is a Copa. A Copa is not a move, it is a position. Copa means stemmed glass or goblet in Spanish.

Shake Hold ²

As the name implies, it is similar to the way Lead and Follower would hold their hands if they were shaking hands. Do not confuse this hold with the 'Right/Left/Crossed Hand Shake' Hold which are arm positions where the hands would be in Hook Hold.

Step Out of the Way

Sometimes Lead directs Follower to move around them. To help Follower get around Lead more easily Lead will move/step out of the way.

In three bars of music Follower can usually walk in a circle around Lead while Lead Steps in Place. For moves that require Follower to circle Lead in two bars of music the Lead has to 'step out of the way' to make it easier for Follower to get around.

While Lead is stepping out of the way Lead continues to face the direction they started in. The relevant chart will show how Lead steps out of the way.

An example of stepping out of the way can be seen in [Figure of Eight] > Ending 2, sn0101, H... > H2.1
